COMPETITION DETAILS
Entries are now closed
The 2022 North Shore Photographic Challenge is an open-theme competition with two categories:
a) Photography/camera clubs, and
b) Individual photographers.
Entries are accepted from all photography/camera clubs and individual photographers resident in British Columbia or the Yukon Territory.
Images must not have been entered in a previous North Shore Challenge competition. While image-makers may choose any subject matter, images with "disturbing or explicit adult content" may be disqualified.
By entering the North Shore Challenge competition, the photographer gives The North Shore Photographic Society permission to duplicate, post online, and use their entry image(s) to advertise and promote future North Shore Challenge events.
Competition judging will occur prior to March 5th, to minimize delays during the event. Entries from clubs and individuals will be randomly mixed in the competition.
All photographers and clubs will receive a score for each image they enter. However, because of time constraints, we cannot guarantee that every photographer’s image in the Individual category will be shown during the Challenge event on March 5th. If the number of images in the final round of competition judging exceeds the time available, the lowest-scoring images among Individual entries will not appear in the show.
CLUBS
BC/Yukon clubs wishing to enter the competition are asked to contact the Challenge Coordinator to obtain a Competition Package by emailing: challenge@nsps.ca
Deadline for clubs to confirm participation: December 13, 2021.
INDIVIDUALS
Individual photographers may enter one to three (1-3) images of their own work. In Round 1, these will be scored by a panel of judges. The top-scoring image from each photographer in Round 1 will advance for scoring by a second panel of judges in the North Shore Photographic Challenge.
To be accepted for competition, images submitted must be:
1) a maximum width of 1400 pixels, and
2) a maximum height of 1050 pixels, and
3) in JPEG file format, and
4) in the sRGB colour space.
To be accepted for competition, image file names must include the:
a) three-letter prefix "INV" (without quotation marks). This prefix indicates an Individual entry,
b) photographer's first name and last name,
c) title of the image, and
(d) be in the following format:
INV_FirstName LastName_Image Title.jpg

Individual entrants will pay a non-refundable $15 competition entry fee through PayPal, using either a PayPal account or credit card.
