DESCRIPTION:Replay of the original Zoom meeting on February 23\, 2024. \n6:30 PM Pacific Time: Zoom room opens\n6:31 PM: Cowichan Valley Camera Club Image Showcase\n7:00 PM: Presentation starts \nTonight's presenter is: Lee Nordbye \nTopic: An Artist’s Mountain Adventures and MisAdventures \nDescription: \n\n\nThis is a replay of Lee's presentation on February 23\, 2024. \nLee Nordbye: Listening to the ice crunch as I dig my crampons into the ice\, my mind wanders momentarily. When my attention returns to the moment\, I quickly slide down the steep ice face of Little Athabasca Glacier. A jerk of the rope and I come to an abrupt stop. Without hesitation\, I get up and start to climb up the face. I reach my guide\, and he asks if I am ok\, I say yes\, we have a bit of a laugh\, and we go to our target Boundary Peak. \nIn this presentation\, Lee’s goal is to give you a sense of being with him on his adventures and misadventures in the Canadian Rockies like this one and his recent trekking experience in Bhutan. He will pair the stories with his bold visual stories. Lee will detail what energizes him to take up adventures like the one above and the inspiration for each of his images. Finally\, Lee will share a few tips and tricks he uses to capture his images. Lee is excited to chat with us about his adventures and photography journey. \n\n\nThe BC/Yukon Inter-Club Speaker Series is available only to members of participating photography clubs in British Columbia and the Yukon. When my attention returns to the moment\, I quickly slide down the steep ice face of Little Athabasca Glacier. A jerk of the rope and I come to an abrupt stop. Without hesitation\, I get up and start to climb up the face. I reach my guide\, and he asks if I am ok\, I say yes\, we have a bit of a laugh\, and we go to our target Boundary Peak. \nIn this presentation\, Lee’s goal is to give you a sense of being with him on his adventures and misadventures in the Canadian Rockies like this one and his recent trekking experience in Bhutan. He will pair the stories with his bold visual stories. Lee will detail what energizes him to take up adventures like the one above and the inspiration for each of his images. Finally\, Lee will share a few tips and tricks he uses to capture his images. In this presentation\, John shares stories and thoughts from a 20-year journey to where he now looks through the lens of love. \nThe BC/Yukon Inter-Club Speaker Series is available only to members of participating photography clubs in British Columbia and the Yukon. Admission is free to members of the North Shore Photographic Society. The link and passcode are available to NSPS members and guests who have pre-registered. \n7:00 - 7:30 PM: Members and guests 'meet and greet' online in the meeting room\n7:30 PM: Meeting starts \nPresenter: Monique Campbell \nProgram Title: Building Confidence to Shoot Street Images \nDescription: Monique’s talk focuses on building the confidence to photograph on the streets for both beginners and experienced photographers. As part of the presentation several "before and after images" will demonstrate how she crops and edits her work. Many tips and tricks will be discussed which she hopes will inspire people to go out and shoot Street. \n\n\nAdmission is free for Members \n\n\n\nGuests are welcome to attend two complimentary meetings on non-Program Nights. Please complete and submit the Guest Registration form\, and we'll get back to you within 48 hours. \nA limited number of non-member Guests may attend a Program Night (with a speaker presentation)\, following payment of the Guest Fee.
